It is with excitement and enthusiasm that I welcome you to the 2018-2019 academic year. I hope you all have had a wonderful summer. I also hope you are relaxed, recharged, and ready to start a new school year. I am so excited that I am starting my first year as principal at Blackville-Hilda High School and will continue to strive to make BHHS great. I welcome and value your positive energy and dedication to achieving the goals and challenges that we will face this school year, as we move forward, working to prepare our students to be productive citizens in this ever-changing society and make achievement a priority at Blackville-Hilda High School.
The expectations are set even higher this year, so we need to continue to expect more from our students. Blackville Hilda High School is an environment where learning comes alive-where students are challenged, and where it is okay to make mistakes. Our new moto “Student Centered & Future Focused” embraces everything we stand for and will work towards in the coming year.
It will take each and every one of us to make this a successful year where academics come first. Let us begin this school year the same way we begin every day with our students, grounded in the mission that academics come first and we can achieve anything if we put our minds to it. Dr. James Comer said, “No significant learning occurs without a significant relationship”.
